Is Kylie Jenner's beauty brand being sued? Model goes after Kylie Cosmetics over unpaid dues

OXNARD, CALIFORNIA: Kylie Cosmetics, Kylie Jenner's beauty brand, is being sued by a model who claims she was not paid on time for a couple of photoshoots. She's now aiming for a six-figure payoff.

While Kylie has worked on several famous projects, her beauty company, Kylie Cosmetics, accounts for the majority of her personal worth. Kylie Cosmetics was a big success, because of her enthusiasm for beauty. The Kylie Lip Kit, which retailed for $29 at the time, was the brand's first product. Despite this, it eventually sold out. The company reportedly made $420 million in its first 18 months. This includes a 2016 holiday launch during which earned Kylie Cosmetics $19 million. While Kylie fared well as the sole owner of Kylie Cosmetics, she sold 51 per cent of the company to Coty Conglomerate in 2019 for a stunning $600 million. In 2023, Kylie Cosmetics contributes 63 per cent of Coty's entire sales of $957.7 million. According to sources, despite Covid-19 shutdown concerns in China, Gucci Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics' retail profits increased by 40 per cent.

Kylie Cosmetics sued over unpaid dues

Kylie's company is being sued by a model called Sasha Palma, who alleges she was recruited for a couple of picture sessions for Kylie's cosmetic items, according to a new complaint obtained by TMZ. Sasha said in the documents that she was originally employed for a one-day shoot in June 2020 at a daily salary of $2,000. She claimed she was due payment by early July, but Kylie's firm missed the deadline by more than 30 days.

Sasha stated Kylie's firm was obviously capable of paying her on time, but they chose not to, resulting in fines totaling $60,000. Sasha alleged in the suit that the same thing happened when she was contracted for another one-day picture session in August 2020. She claims she did not get her $2,000 check until more than 30 days after the deadline and hence is entitled to an additional $60,000.

Sasha is suing Kylie's firm for $120,000 in damages.

Kylie Jenner's rep dismisses claims

According to a spokesperson for Kylie's company, the model was paid before 45 days had passed after her invoice for both shots. The representative also claimed to have documents. Meanwhile, a source close to Kylie claims that the model's agency may have withheld money from her, which would not be her fault. The same model later approached the company for a letter of recommendation, but Kylie's brand did not issue it, the source said. According to the website, the model's agency tried to get more orders for Kylie's company after the 2020 photo shoots.
