Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in “good condition” after being taken to the hospital on Saturday, his office said.
Netanyahu, 73, went to the Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv, according to a statement, and is “undergoing medical evaluation.” No other details were released.
The Walla news site, citing anonymous sources, reported that Netanyahu lost consciousness at his home and hit his head on the floor.
In October, just before the last election, he was taken to a Jerusalem hospital after feeling chest pains at a synagogue. The prime minister said soon afterward that he felt “better” and thanked well-wishers.
Netanyahu is Israel’s longest-serving prime minister, elected to a total of five terms, the first in 1996. His current far-right government is pushing an initiative to diminish the power of the judiciary, a plan that’s drawn hundreds of thousands of protesters to the streets in recent months.
