NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Good Morning America’ host George Stephanopoulos was recently urged by ‘Full House’ star John Stamos to “run for President” before it was “too late”

The renowned actor appeared as a guest on the morning show to promote his new memoir titled ‘If You Would Have Told Me’. During the segment, Stamos turned to Stephanopoulos and asked him to run for President.

The actor begged Stephanopoulos to make a dramatic career change, asking him to take the baton of the presidency into his hands and make great waves.

John Stamos wants George Stephanopoulos to become US President

The ‘General Hospital’ star said that he wanted the ‘GMA’ anchor to try a big career move away from the morning show.

As the segment opened, Stamos snuck in a suggestion for the host and said, “George, it's not too late. Please run for president.”

Stephanopoulos along with co-hosts Robin Roberts and Lara Spencer chuckled before he replied, "Greeks have to stick together."

Although it's unclear if the ‘GMA’ personality has any plans to ditch the desk for the White House, Stamos’ suggestion did stir some thoughts in the fans' minds.

‘GMA's Instagram account posted a sweet photo of everyone posing alongside the ‘General Hospital' star.

Fans, who saw Stamos’ suggestion, were up and running, completely on board with the thought of the ‘GMA’ anchor running in the presidential elections.

One fan commented on the video, “We do need someone with brains!” while a second wrote, “He would get my vote!!!”

Another added, “Loved that!!!! The entire interview was fantastic but Great Idea John!!”

A fourth mentioned, “My dad thought @gstephanopoulos would run someday.”

George Stephanopoulos’ wife Ali Wentworth spoke about ‘dark times’ as they attended a non-profit event

Stephanopoulos and his wife Ali Wentworth have been struggling big time as of late after turning into empty nesters.

Ali shared snaps of herself and her husband at a gala for the Good + Foundation, a non-profit meant to dismantle multi-generational poverty.

Jim Gaffigan, Kevin Hart, and Amy Schumer also appeared in the snaps alongside Jerry Seinfeld and Jesse Seinfeld.

She captioned her post, “During dark times laughter can be medicinal. @goodplusfdn raised money last night to scaffold low-income families and dismantle multi-generational poverty.”

She concluded, “Friends and family came together. And the best of the best comedians gave us a much-needed escape.”

The mother of two daughters also performed a comedy set at the said event.

George Stephanopoulos' political past

George Stephanopoulos joined ABC News in 1997 as an analyst for 'This Week'.

Prior to joining the network, he served in former president Bill Clinton's administration as the Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy, according to ABC.

He is also the author of 'All Too Human', a Number1 New York Times bestseller.
