Jessie 'Boss Lee': MLM seller dies after forgoing chemotherapy and trying 'natural' colon cancer treatment

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Legendary entrepreneur Jessie "Boss Lee" Ward, vice president of Pruvit, a ketone supplement multi-level marketing (MLM) firm, died following a brief battle with colon cancer.

After receiving her routine bloodwork results, Ward was told she had stage-four colon cancer back in March. However, Ward disagreed that instant aggressive chemotherapy was her best option and opted for holistic remedies to cure her cancer.

She experimented with unconventional therapies like red-light therapy, ozone therapy, magnetic therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, as per Daily Mail.

On September 15, Ward's Facebook page posted a request for supporters to attend a virtual prayer circle for her recovery. It read, "She is fighting harder than ever and we need your help."

The account said Ward died two days later. Ward's social media account made the announcement of her death.

The post read, "Jessie Lee’s love was a powerful force that touched each of you deeply. She instilled unwavering belief, undeniable faith, and a strong desire for you to transform your dreams into reality in every heart she reached."

Jessie Lee rejected chemotherapy and tried curing her colon cancer by pursuing 'natural' remedies

Following routine blood work, Ward revealed to her hundreds of millions of followers in March that she had been identified as having stage 4 colon cancer.

According to Ward, who made an appearance on a podcast in July, her oncologist told her that rigorous chemotherapy might extend her life by two and a half years; if not she would be "dead by Christmas."

"My surgeon and the oncologist are one hundred percent pimps. Not of women, of chemo," Ward claimed in an Instagram video.

She decided to take a different path instead.

Ward remarked in another TikTok she made from her hospital bed, "I’m very anti all of that. I didn’t even give my dog chemo when she had cancer. I took a holistic route."

She went on to describe her routine, which included "magnetic" treatments, "ozone" therapies, hyperbaric oxygen chamber sessions, and "red-light therapy."

"Boss Lee" spoke about using a number of unproven alternative cancer treatments, such as taking high doses of vitamin C three times a week and drinking eight to twelve juices daily (“I’m just overdosing my body in nutrition”).

She also spent time daily in a hyperbaric chamber and used a "biocharger" machine.

Following her cancer diagnosis, Ward promised to share her journey with her fans, but she resisted the notion that she was giving anyone advice.

Bloggers and activists in the anti-MLM community criticized Ward right away. The Skepchick Network's creator and blogger Rebecca Watson released a video in April headlined "This MLM Influencer May Get Someone Killed."

Savannah Marie, another anti-MLM YouTuber, commented on Ward's social media posts in a video that was published in July.
