AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, the renowned podcast host, and UFC commentator, expressed admiration for former President Donald Trump's commitment to negotiating a peace agreement if re-elected to the presidency. In a candid discussion on his Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Rogan, along with comedian Duncan Trussell, criticized the Democratic Party for seemingly abandoning their anti-war principles.
Rogan's podcast, known for its unfiltered conversations and his unabashed opinions, serves as a platform for open dialogue on various topics. As a respected figure in the world of mixed martial arts, he brings his unique perspective to the political landscape, discussing matters that resonate with his audience.
'I want everybody to stop dying'
In a recent episode, Rogan delved into the shifting landscape of the anti-war movement, noting its diminishing presence in current times. Rogan expressed his belief that former President Trump stood out as one of the few leaders actively working towards resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Criticizing the overly enthusiastic and simplified political rhetoric surrounding the war, Rogan highlighted the intricate nature of the situation.
During the discussion, Rogan's guest, Trussell, added a touch of humor by comparing the complexity of the Russia-Ukraine conflict to a perplexing puzzle, implying that finding a comprehensive solution is akin to solving a challenging riddle. Through their candid conversation, Rogan and Trussell shed light on the nuanced dynamics of the conflict and the absence of a unified anti-war stance within the political landscape.
Trussell commented on the war by saying, "It is like a pep rally for murdering people."
Rogan expressed his disappointment in the absence of the anti-war left from his earlier years. He observed that establishment Democrats and Republicans seemed to be joining forces, presenting a united front to prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
Rogan said, "They're all united on this idea that they should continue. There's no one, whether it's a Republican or a Democrat," he noted with a recollection that Democrats had consistently held an anti-war stance. He further said, "This is the first time where the Democrats are like wholesale buying the narrative and ‘We have to stop Putin. We have to support Ukraine.’ I mean, how many Democrat, peaceful people that used to have syringes in their Twitter bio now have a Ukraine flag?"
Rogan commended Trump for his remarks during a CNN Town Hall in May, in which the prospective 2024 candidate confidently claimed that he could swiftly resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict if he were to be re-elected as president. Trump said, "If I'm president, I will have that war settled in one day, 24 hours," When asked about his preference for the outcome of the war between Ukraine and Russia, Trump responded by expressing his desire for an end to the loss of life. He stated, "I want everybody to stop dying. They're dying. Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I'll have that done. I'll have that done in 24 hours. I'll have it done. You need the power of the presidency to do it."
Rogan praised Trump's response, considering it to be 'flawless'. He ridiculed CNN for attempting to create a 'gotcha' moment out of a topic that holds immense global significance. Rogan emphasized that the fate of the world is at stake, expressing concern about the possibility of nuclear war. He criticized the casual support for the ongoing conflict without any discussion about the necessity of finding a compromise.
