AUSTIN, TEXAS: Renowned UFC commentator Joe Rogan had once issued a public apology for disregarding a direct UFC order.

While addressing the incident, he candidly expressed his remorse and acknowledged the gravity of his actions.

Taking full responsibility for his misstep, Rogan detailed the sequence of events during the match and reassured his followers that such behavior would not be repeated.

In response to the tweets, his fans urged him not to be too hard on himself, emphasizing that everyone makes mistakes. Rogan went on to explain what led to his actions.

What did Joe Rogan say?

In 2017, Daniel Cormier faced Jon Jones for the light heavyweight championship, culminating in 'DC' getting knocked out in the third round. What unfolded next was rather unconventional.

Following a knockout, engaging in a post-fight interview is likely the last thing on a fighter's mind. However, this is precisely what happened with Cormier when Joe Rogan proceeded with a post-fight interview.

Interestingly, UFC president Dana White later disclosed that Rogan had been advised against conducting that interview, but he went ahead with it anyway. Consequently, Joe Rogan took to X (formerly Twitter) to issue a public apology.

Rogan wrote on X, "My apologies to @dc_mma and to all of you upset by my interviewing him after the fight. In all honestly I was kind of in shock."

Further Rogan said, "And then I wound up doing it to someone I care a great deal about. DC Is a great man and the whole thing was surreal."

He added, "I don't think I realized what I was doing until I actually had a mic in front of him. I've said I don't want to interview KO'ed fighters."

In another tweet, Rogan shared his feelings, “I was beating myself up about it all last night. It'll never happen again. My apologies to D.C. And to all of you.”

Then Rogan introspected, “People get upset over everything. That's not what bothered me. My concern was that I was upset with myself and I shouldn't have done it.”

In the last tweet, Rogan admitted, “Again, no one asked me to do it. It was 100% my f**k up. Like I said, I was kind of in shock.”

Internet reacts to Joe Rogan's apology

Upon reading tweets of Joe Rogan where he shared his apology, fans flocked to the comment section and shared their comments. One fan wrote, "People make mistakes. Kudos to being accountable for the mistake and apologizing for it. You're still one of the best."

The second said, "It's all good. We needed his candid comments."

The third fan shared, "I think it was crazy to see him KO like that, I hear you man, I hope for a Jones DC III."

The fourth user mentioned, "Refreshing to see public figures own up and take responsibility, you're a good man @joerogan don't sweat it."

The last user said, "@joerogan don't feel bad about that. We were all shocked and I personally appreciated his humbled and honest response. Made me like him more."
