AUSTIN, TEXAS: Joe Rogan, the host of the popular Spotify podcast 'The Joe Rogan Experience', has covered innumerable topics on his show, often raising some eyebrows due to some of his contentious opinions. Despite his outspoken nature and strong views, the UFC color commentator has managed to garner an impressive fan following.

Back in 2022, during his 'JRE' episode with Seth Dillon, Rogan discussed yet another controversial topic. However, it was starkly different from his usual picks as he chose to focus on the situation of teachers, calling their job grossly underpaid.

'We don’t pay them very much, we treat them like s**t'

On the 'JRE', Rogan discussed the difficulty of teaching children and how the efforts of teachers virtually never receive enough credit. "Teachers are one of the most important parts of a child’s development is the education they’re exposed to when they are a child," said Rogan, before stating that it was one of the most underappreciated jobs that people often look past. "But we don’t think about that as being that valuable. We don’t pay them very much, we treat them like s**t," stated the 'JRE', emphasizing that teaching should receive both social and financial recognition. "It’s not a great job in terms of the financial, or it’s not very celebrated," he added. Rogan also opined that most people remember teachers when something goes wrong and are quick to judge the, expressing, "We’re only mad at them when they do something wrong like the teachers are responsible."

'I've had a lot of bad teachers'

Even though Rogan mentioned that he has "had a lot of bad teachers" he never fails to show a great deal of respect toward the profession. Dillon agreed with Rogan’s points, comparing them to the treatment of current law enforcement. And the host expressed his opinion about police officers sharing the same values as teachers. Later, the duo went forward to talk about various topics, including politics and abortion rights.
