Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham believes the energy from the fans has helped inspire his electric start to life at the club.
After joining from Borussia Dortmund for an initial £88m this summer, Bellingham has struck ten goals in ten games for Madrid, firmly establishing himself as a new fan-favourite and earning a reputation as one of the world's top talents.
Unsurprisingly, Bellingham was named Madrid's Player of the Month for September, and as he picked up that prize - known as the Mahou Five Star Player award - he credited the supporters for helping him settle so quickly.
"My connection with the fans is very special, it's a pleasure to play for them," he told club media. "I enjoy the songs and chants, they give me a lot of energy and strength, that's probably why I started the way I did. I really appreciate it and I hope we can continue to make good memories together.
"It's a dream come true. Playing here is better than I ever imagined. I'm enjoying every moment, both in training and in the games, and I hope it stays that way."
England have also benefitted from Bellingham's outstanding form as the midfielder led the Three Lions to a 3-1 win over Italy during the international break.
Wayne Rooney, England legend and current manager of Bellingham's former club Birmingham City, heaped praise on the 20-year-old but warned fans that such electric form cannot last forever.
"What Jude is doing is incredible and you have to pay him a load of respect for the way he's come through and gone to the next level," Rooney said.
"What is important is that he will dip at some point and we don't kill him when that happens - that we just get behind him and stick with him. He's someone we really need to protect and really look forward to the future with him.
"He's on a purple patch but that dip happens to all players and as a country we are too quick to get on players' backs instead of giving them the chance to get out of a bad run of form. There is a lot of pressure playing for England so it's important his coaches are around him.
"He's in the best form of his life but if he does have that dip, let's all get behind him. Adversity happens and it will happen with Jude, you've seen it with Marcus [Rashford] and Raheem [Sterling]."
