LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Whoopi Goldberg who tops the headlines for her controversial remarks draws attention again as 'American Idol' judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryant are boycotting 'The View'. The move comes after the 67-year-old host blamed the singing competition television series for the "downfall of the society."

"Katy, Lionel, and Luke are all boycotting The View. You can't blame someone for literally destroying civilization, which is what Whoopi said, and then expect them to sit down and talk with you," a source revealed and added, "The next time the Idol judges do press, they will appear on all ABC's shows — but not The View," reported Radar Online.

Goldberg recently faced backlash over offensive comments about the Holocaust

In 2022, Goldberg faced backlash after she stirred outrage worldwide with her controversial remarks as she stated the holocaust was "not about race" as "it featured "two groups of White people." However, sources shared there have been talks at The View' backstage about the controversies making it difficult for the show to book guests if the controversial host continues to trash people.

The media outlet also reported 'The View' co-host Joy Behar became annoyed over Goldberg reportedly trying to get a raise. Behar who earns $7 million a year has become "frustrated" over the greed of Goldberg who makes a reported $8 million a year. "She wants parity with Whoopi and thinks she deserves it," said the insider who added that Behar thinks "the more Whoopi takes, the less there is for everyone else."

Goldberg who is aware of her 80-year-old co-host's thoughts. However, she remains ignorant about her feelings. "As far as she's concerned, it's none of her business how much the others are making. It's not going to stop her driving a hard bargain," said the source.

ABC continues to support Goldberg amid controversies

Despite Goldberg's numerous controversies, ABC has continued to support her even after the show's viewers grew furious when she celebrated right-wing political host Tucker Carlson was recently fired from FOX News. The viewers wanted Goldberg to quit the show following the incident.

However, the only time the network took action against Goldberg was in February 2022 as she was suspended for two weeks following her offensive comment as she stated the genocide of European Jews was not about race after which the actress-turned-television personality apologized. "While Whoopi has apologized, I’ve asked her to take time to reflect and learn about the impact of her comments," ABC News president Godwin said at the time. "The entire ABC News organization stands in solidarity with our Jewish colleagues, friends, family, and communities," he added.
