Kevin Durant haters summoned the last guest they expected to a Twitter space

In his latest social media antics, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant decided to hop into a Twitter Space that was aimed at roasting him.

Phoenix Suns' Kevin Durant recently felt the need to hijack a Twitter Space that was called "KD is not top 5" because, well, maybe he has nothing better to do this offseason. And he's feeling just a tad insecure about his legacy, perhaps.

Durant popped into the forum much to the host's surprise and just had a few choice words to say on his behalf. The Twitter Space's title was self-explanatory and included a number of Twitter users who had gathered to discuss why Durant was supposedly not a top-five player in the league.

Other professional NBA players may have ignored the hate and swatted away their doubters as if they were buzzing gnats, but Durant simply could not have his reputation sullied by a group of basketball fans who may or may not have been tuning into the Twitter Space from a basement in their parents' house. Free Wi-Fi, am I right?

What exactly did Durant say to defend his honor? Have a listen.

Look, Durant may not, in fact, be considered a top-five player, but he could be considered one of the greatest Twitter fiends in NBA history.

What other athlete would go to such lengths to poke internet trolls?

In his invasion of the Twitter Space roast, Durant called out users saying that the way they consume the game is "trash." He then went on to declare that these top-five lists "don't really mean nothing anyway" and doesn't think people should get upset over them.

Which is ironic, because Durant is obviously pretty upset enough to join this conversation in the first place.

Compared to other high-profile stars, Durant does tend to be more vocal on Twitter using his plethora of burner accounts. That's no secret.

This could, however, be the first documented time that Durant has actually joined a Twitter Space and chimed in.

Now that Durant is part of yet another Big 3 in Phoenix, his ego may be a little extra fragile. This surely won't be the last time we see KD toot his own horn on social media.
