LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Fans of Kim Cattrall are ecstatic to see their favorite Samantha again as the 66-year-old star is reportedly returning in the Season 2 finale of 'And Just Like That,' Max's revival of HBO's 'Sex and the City.' Many fans were disappointed when Catrall initially announced she would no longer be playing the much-loved character, Variety reports. But, after hearing about her cameo on the show, fans reacted by saying, "The world needs more Samantha."
Reports say Cattrall will only show up in one scene and shot her lines on March 22 in New York City without interacting with the series' performers, including Sarah Jessica Parker, or with 'And Just Like That' showrunner Michael Patrick King. Even though the second season of 'And Just Like That' debuts on June 22, Cattrall's Samantha-related scene won't be shown until August.
Fans of 'SATC: AJLT' has been debating various points of view. Some people wonder what the point is if there aren't many scenes for Cattrall, while others are happy that she's finally returning and some talked about the latest rumor that she didn't mingle with the other stars when they were filming in New York.
'She must have reasons for that'
A fan tweeted, "If she doesn't have any scenes with the other girls, then what's the point???" Another user wrote, "I'm a HUGE SATC fan. I don't blame her for not coming back for AJLT. It destroyed the original characters. It was tragically aweful." "I'll be so happy to see her, if even just for a minute. Show is not the same without her," mentioned one fan. A fan defended, "She must have reasons for that." Another user wrote, "If things were as bad as Kim Cattrall said, then why go back? She doesn’t need the money. Either she lacks self-worth or it was all a pr stunt." "This is sad. If she can't get along with ANY of the cast, the problem is her. What a shame," remarked one user. Another user wrote, "Can’t you see everyone wants a Samantha spin-off? I could see that being amazing esp since she’s single."
One person criticized 'And Just Like That...' and claimed, "AJLT is terrible, sub soap; plot lines dropped on characters that do not relate to them. Out of gas." Another fan wrote, "WE LOVE TO SEE IT." Referring to the actress not seeing the costars, a fan wrote, "Probably a dream sequence and the others weren’t called that day." Anothe noted, "Maybe the beginning of the spin-off."
