Texas football picked up a huge commitment from five-star edge Colin Simmons and he's already pledged to flip more recruits to the Longhorns.
After a tight recruiting battle with LSU, the Texas Longhorns came out on top in their pursuit of Colin Simmons.
The five-star edge rusher announced his pledge to the Longhorns on Thursday, becoming the top-rated recruit in the class of 2024 for Texas.
And Longhorn fans can look forward to more if Simmons' pledge to flip other 2024 prospects to Texas comes true.

Back in June, Simmons tweeted a call to action for other recruits: "24′ recruits be ready to Flip when i announce my commitment.. i want nun but the best around me."
A couple of months later, he followed through on committing to Texas.
So Stage 1 of the plan is now complete. Stage 2 will involve drawing more elite recruits to Austin.
Simmons ranks No. 8 in the 247Sports composite rankings, rating as the best edge in the class and the best prospect in the state of Texas.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker was the co-MVP of the Texas District 11-6A last season with his 22.5 sacks helping Duncanville go undefeated on their way to a state championship.
Naturally, locking him down was a top priority for Steve Sarkisian and his staff. But they faced serious competition from LSU, who threatened to steal him away from his home state. Winning that battle is a good sign for the Longhorns who are preparing for more clashes with SEC foes both in recruiting and on the field. Competing in their new conference will require keeping top Texas talent in Texas.
So who is next?
The Longhorns are in position to steal the top Louisiana recruit out from under LSU with five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley still weighing his options. They're also hard after five-star prospects like wide receiver Ryan Wingo, offensive tackle Brandon Baker and cornerback Kobe Black.
And there's always those flips Simmons is after.
