The radio call of Mike Yastrzemski's epic walk-off home run matched the intensity of the moment.

Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th inning, Mike Yastrzemski just wanted to go home. Go home he would, after he hit a no-doubter splash hit home run over the right field wall into the bay to lift the San Francisco Giants over the San Diego Padres 7-4.

The moment was huge, not only in the context of the night, but also the broader standings. The Giants just completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road in Dodger Stadium over the weekend, and with Monday night's win, San Francisco leap-frogged LA in the NL West.

Now, the Giants sit second in the division 3.5 games behind the leading Arizona Diamondbacks, 8-2 in their last 10 games.

But that's not why we're here. We're here for the soundtrack of the morning: Dave Flemming's call of the walk-off home run.

Radio call of Mike Yastrzemski's walk-off home run

Dave Flemming had the call for KNBR:

Here's the transcription — which certainly does not do the call justice — of the call if you can't listen in:

"Yaz blasts one! Deep right field, it is gone, into the water! A walk off splash hit, Mike Yastrzemski… The late-inning magic for the Giants just keeps getting more magical. Yastrezmski unloaded on it and hit it into San Francisco Bay."

It was Yastrzemski's fourth career walk-off home run, but he said it was the first one he's enjoyed:

"That was probably the first time I've actually enjoyed it a little bit," Yastrzemski said. "I'm always worried about the ball getting caught. I don't really hit many where I definitely know."

It was his 10th home run of the season and second of the evening. Yastrzemski is batting with an OPS+ of 118 this year.
