Luka Modric signs one-year Real Madrid contract extension

Real Madrid have announced a new contract for club legend Luka Modric, extending his stay at the Bernabeu for at least another year until 2024.

It takes Modric, who joined Real from Tottenham in 2012, into a 12th season with Los Blancos.

The Croatian veteran has already played 488 times for the club, set to surpass 500 appearances in the early stages of next season, and has won 23 trophies – including five Champions Leagues.

Modric joins long-time midfield partner Toni Kroos in pledging his future to Real following confirmation of the German’s new contract announcement earlier this month.
