Michelle Obama nudges newly graduated daughter Sasha to find jobs: 'She needs to get out there'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It has barely been two weeks since Michelle Obama's younger daughter, Sasha, completed her graduation from the University of Southern California. But it seems she is already getting pressurized by her mother to get a job. "She's telling Sasha she needs to get out there and start interviewing for positions," an insider told RadarOnline. They further added, "She's heard a lot of her friends' kids had jobs in line even before they graduated."

Sasha's elder sibling, Malia Obama, on the other hand, is strongly determined to make a name for herself in Hollywood. The 24-year-old completed her graduation from the prestigious Harvard in 2021 and since then, she has worked as a writer for the Prime series 'Swarm' and will make her directorial debut with a short film produced by Donald Glover.

Michelle suspects Sasha wants to 'hang out with her friends and party'

The 22-year-old who received a sociology degree, is still unsure what she is going to do in the future. "She wants to take summer off to figure it out," revealed an insider. "But Michelle suspects what she wants to do is hang out with her friends and party, and she's not going to put up with that."

Sasha's family was present at her graduation ceremony

Sasha moved closer to her elder sister last year after she transferred to USC from the University of Michigan. At Sasha's graduation ceremony in May, Barack Obama, the former president of the United States, Malia, and Michelle were all observed in the crowd. At Allyson Felix Field, the family was pictured with more than a dozen US Secret Service personnel seated behind other grads.

The crowd cheered and applauded Sasha after her name was called to receive her diploma. Michelle, Barack, and Malia were all overjoyed as they screamed alongside Sasha's classmates to celebrate the joyous occasion.

Barack Obama and his family kept a low profile at the event

According to LA Times, eyewitnesses informed that the Obama family kept a low profile when the event concluded. None of them took any photos with the attendees, but the former president congratulated the parents and family members of graduates while they were leaving.

'I want my girls to spend some time with themselves'

Michelle Obama previously opened up during an interview on the 'Tamron Hall' show that she does not want her daughters to feel pressurized to get married and have a family, as she said that they need to know that "their happiness is in their own hands."

"Too many young people are rushing to check the box of marriage before they even know who they are, and then they're surprised when they pick the wrong person, or they don't know how to struggle through hard times", the former first lady said. She further added, "I want my girls to spend some time with themselves to develop some skills to understand that they can make it with or without, that they can build their happiness with all the bells and whistles and they can be happy if they choose to only focus on their career, to never have kids. I want to make their worlds bigger for them."
