Mizkif once reacted to Pokimane's 5 tips for smaller streamers video: 'Women have it so much easier than men'

Mizkif, a Twitch sensation and OTK (One True King) cofounder, reacted to an old YouTube video by Imane "Pokimane" Anys. In the video, Pokimane addressed a frequently requested question and gave 5 tips for smaller streamers to gain more viewers and followers.

Mizkif, whose opinions differed from Pokimane's streaming tips, said that women have it "so much easier" in getting their Twitch channel to the 200 viewer milestone than men, who could take years to achieve even double-digit viewership figures.

'Women have it so much easier than men'

While watching the video, he decided to share his thoughts on the differences between men and women on streaming platforms, notably how their audiences develop in size. He said, "I'm going to say something that's honestly true, and I may get a legit hate thread on this one. Women have a much easier time getting that initial 100-200 viewers."

He then elaborates on his point, claiming that anyone who does not accept him or believes otherwise is mistaken. "I'm sorry it's just the truth, and if you don't think that's the truth, then you're wrong. It is way easier for women to get to that 100-200-300 viewers, it is 'WAY' easier. Women have it so much easier than men, and it's just the truth."

Mizkif explained how women have a hard time breaking through the one-thousand viewer mark due to a glass ceiling at around 600-1000 viewers. Female streamers are more likely to have a large audience on a mostly male-populated site due to male audiences wanting to watch women over other men.

Pokimane's top 5 tips for small streamers

Pokimane shared a video on her YouTube account with advice for obtaining fans. "I have been streaming for over 6 years, so I have seen a lot happening on the platform. I have seen people explode in popularity and I have seen people fall off." She then went on to give the following advice:

1. Interactivity is key: Pokimane advises small streamers to connect with their fans as much as possible before going live.

2. Use external sources to promote your stream: Share your feeds and videos on all of your social media handles. Share the links or videos on all of your social media accounts, and more people will learn about it, increasing your popularity.

3. The door metaphor: "Think of your channel as a door," Pokimane suggested. She stated that the caption, link, or anything else should not reveal complete details about your stream. Allow guests to enter the room and see what's inside by clicking. Create intriguing and wonderful content and allow people to click on it to grow.

4. Figure out your branding: Pokimane suggested that one must decide the topic of their stream. If one wants to talk about fashion or fitness then they must promote that. She went on to say that she was into video games when she first started and that she knew she wanted to be a part of streaming community.

5. 'Would You Watch Your Stream?' Lastly, Pokimane advised making an appealing video and remembering to keep the audience's point of view in mind while posting it. If you enjoy watching your own stream, chances are that many others do as well.
