Mo Wilson murder case: Kaitlin Armstrong found guilty by jury within two hours of trial

AUSTIN, TEXAS: Kaitlin Armstrong was pronounced guilty of the murder of Moriah 'Mo' Wilson after a trial in an Austin court on Thursday, November 16.

It took the jury hardly a couple of hours to announce their verdict against Armstrong who now faces up to 99 years in prison.

Colin Strickland dropped 'Mo' at her friend's place before murder

Reports indicate that substantial evidence was presented against the 35-year-old Kaitlin Armstrong. She allegedly stalked her ex-boyfriend Colin Strickland and Moriah Wilson while they were dining out on May 11, 2022.

After dropping his girlfriend, Moriah Wilson, off at her friend's house, Colin Strickland witnessed Kaitlin Armstrong arriving at the scene in her SUV.

As the verdict was announced, Armstrong looked straight ahead.

“Friends and family of Mo Wilson are crying tears of joy silently as they hear the news read out loud. Huge hugs from the Wilson family. Mr and Mrs Wilson hug,” reported News Nation.

“The last thing that Mo Wilson did on this Earth on May 11, 2022, at 9:15 pm was scream in terror,” state prosecutor Rickey Jones said in his closing arguments.

Wilson in her last few hours was with Colin Strickland, Armstrong's live-in boyfriend, as per DailyMail.

Security cameras capture Armstrong's Jeep at the scene

Armstrong’s black Jeep was captured by several surveillance cameras in the neighborhood on that fateful night.

Her car's GPS and phone GPS also reflected that Armstrong was at the scene of the crime.

"Never seen so much evidence in my life against one person," Jones said in court.

Following the killing, Armstrong attempted to evade authorities. According to Jones, "Then she (Armstrong) flees to Costa Rica, undergoes plastic surgery, and starts teaching yoga on the beach, all while the Wilsons are left trying to pick up the pieces."

The killer was apprehended later, and Jones emphasized during the trial, "She's running from you and you and you and you... because you are a jury of her peers. Everybody deserves their day in court, and she got hers," pointing to members of the jury.

Defense Attorney Rick Cofer slammed Strickland, calling him a liar and womanizer.

“Mo Wilson was not the first woman in Colin's life. She had to be portrayed as a jealous psycho to explain motive,” he said to the jury.

“The truth of the matter is that APD didn't want a single piece of evidence in front of you that points away from Kaitlin Armstrong. They don't want a single piece of evidence that is inconsistent with their case,” Armstrong’s lawyer told the jury on authorities failing to look into different murder angles.
