New reports have claimed that Modern Warfare 2's Beta will start in September, instead of the previously leaked August date.
A new report by Ralph Valve, via WhatIfGaming, claims that Activision has opted to split the Beta across two weekends in September. Previously, it was thought that the Beta would be taking place in August thanks to a product listing on Amazon.
Instead, August will apparently be slated for multiplayer reveals and various events, offering a deeper look into gameplay. The Beta will be split across two weekends, with the first being held exclusively for PlayStation players.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Beta Dates
According to Ralph, the Beta dates are as follows:
Weekend 1 (Playstation Exclusive)Â
- Early Access:Â September 15th â 16th
- Open Beta:Â September 17th â 19th
Weekend 2 (Cross-play Beta)Â
- Early Access:Â September 22nd â 23rd
- Open Beta:Â September 24th â 26th
Players looking to access the Beta on systems other than PlayStation will be involved on the second weekend. The Open Beta will end roughly a month before the game's official launch on Oct. 28, 22.
Pre-orders or pre-purchases are needed in order to gain access to Modern Warfare 2's Open Beta. Players can pre-order and pre-purchase on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Battle.net or Steam.
