Spoilers for ‘Muted’ Episode 2

MADRID, SPAIN: Netflix psychological crime thriller ‘Muted’ kicked off with the revelation of ‘The Balcony Killer’ and Ana Dussuel's secretive investigation. So far, the series has only left things on a half-ended note, but as you watch the episodes, the story unveils, and dark secrets prevail in every moment.

While Episode 1 of ‘Muted’ ended with a dramatic suspense that might end Marta’s life, the next episode takes an unexpected turn. Marta’s boyfriend, Eneko, played by ‘Elite’ star Manu Ríos, intertwines Marta and Sergio Ciscar’s romance. Both lovers of Marta are unaware of the other, but her secret didn’t last much longer. While Marta puts herself at great risk for getting closer to Sergio, her relationship with Eneko is questioned. On the other hand, Ana feels different for Sergio as she caresses him on the screen where she monitors him. This episode has somewhat disclosed Ana’s true motive, but will she really be able to help Sergio?

How is Marta entangled in Ana’s investigation?

Marta is an admirer of Sergio and will do anything to prove his innocence (clearly, he is not). Although Marta agrees to play the role of a lover with Sergio, she panics when he gets closer to her. Not to mention that Eneko is still out of the picture. Ana visits Marta, who seems to be done with this roleplay; however, she gets caught up again when Ana sensitively attacks her with Sergio’s emotional encounter. She then asks her to get more videos from Sergio’s cell phone, probably the key to unfolding the truth behind the Balcony Killer’s silence. However, Marta’s cover is about to be busted as Eneko sees her following Sergio. Apparently, Eneko is head over heels in love with Marta and thinks Sergio is following her and not the other way around.

Well, at least Eneko is safe from all of this; unfortunately, it doesn’t last that long. Sergio pays a visit to him while he is out on a house show and kisses Marta in front of him, ending up in a hurtful beating of Sergio.

Sergio’s path to ‘forgiveness’

The first episode of ‘Muted’ ended on a twisted and suspenseful note. Sergio may or may not kill Marta, as she risks getting herself mixed up in Ana’s investigation. Episode 2 divulges more into Sergio’s path to forgiveness for his sins; however, he finds himself in a twisted trap as his evangelical priest, Natanael has something else in his mind for him. The ‘evilness’ of Natanael can be seen on his face when he smirks and blabs about ‘God this, God that!’ Never mind, Sergio is trying to help himself find peace after killing his parents by working with the priest. Also, he visits his grandparent’s and aunt’s house to ask for forgiveness but is threatened by his aunt for being a disgrace to the family.

On the other side, Marta is able to get closer to Sergio as he shares an emotional moment with her by playing her sister, Noa’s video clips. As Sergio tries to kiss Marta, she hesitates and leaves from there.

Ana’s creepy obsession with Sergio

Ana, a psychiatrist who makes her life mission to prove Sergio is a good person, behaves erotically as she embraces Sergio on the screen while he’s sleeping. There is more than one instance that shows her creepy obsession with Sergio, which is obviously more than her work. She dozes off while monitoring the screens as Sergio sleeps.
