Netflix's 'Everything Now' trailer scrutinises teen mental health and body issues

Following in the path of Heartstopper and Sex Education comes Everything Now, Netflix's latest comedy-drama scrutinising the ups and downs of British teens.

The upcoming series, created by writer Ripley Parker, follows the life of 16-year-old Mia, played by Sophie Wilde, known for A24’s acclaimed horror film Talk to Me. She returns to sixth form after a seven-month period recovering from anorexia. Mia finds things have changed immensely with her friends, her enemies, and her general state of adolescence — and she's now along for the ride. With an ever-changing personal bucket list, Mia has to adapt, explore, and ultimately find what she really wants.

The official trailer for the series offers everything you'd want in a teen-focused show: intense friendships, bouts of heartache, burgeoning young love, and explosive parties. The cast includes Lauryn Ajufo, Harry Cadby, Noah Thomas, Sam Reuben, Niamh McCormack, Jessie Mae Alonzo, Robert Akodoto, Vivienne Acheampong, Alex Hassell, and Stephen Fry.

Parker said the show will place emphasis on "mental health issues faced by many British teenagers, particularly those surrounding food and body image."

Everything Now comes to Netflix on Oct. 5.
