NECBC holds in-person and online conferences and networking events throughout the year, including its signature Boston Executive Energy Conference, now in its 31 st year; an April trade, investment, and technology conference; and other specialty events focusing on electric vehicles and cross-border business opportunities and celebrating occasions including Canada Day (July 1).
Gulliver is succeeding Peter J. Howe, a senior vice president at the Boston strategic communications consulting firm Denterlein, who served as president for the 2021-23 term. Howe will become an NECBC vice president and chair of the Council’s Membership Committee.
“I’m excited and honored to follow in Peter’s footsteps and look forward to serving with Marshall, Kathy and Sarah, three superb new appointees, along with returning Executive Committee and Board Members, who tirelessly work on behalf of NECBC and its goals,’’ Gulliver said. “There is no more important bilateral relationship than that between the U.S. and Canada: NECBC is proud to be able to contribute to this through our various programs and events.”
NECBC also thanked two retiring members for their distinguished service to the council:
- The Hon. Rodger T. Cuzner, Canada’s Consul General in Boston, who is stepping down from that role and membership on the NECBC board effective July 1
- Bennett W. Schwartz, a former NECBC president (2014-16) and longtime board member, who is also stepping down on July 1.
“Rodger will head back to Cape Breton with the deepest thanks of NECBC and all his many friends in Boston and New England for all that he has done to sustain and strengthen the strong bonds of business, culture, and friendship between New England and Canada, particularly Québec and Atlantic Canada,’’ said outgoing NECBC president Howe. “Ben Schwartz has been a solid, wise pillar of leadership for NECBC for decades, and we are pleased he will remain closely associated with NECBC as he continues in leadership positions at other international trade promotion organizations.”
