NFL Rumors: Raiders list Zamir White as RB1 on depth chart

Who's the player with the most to benefit from Josh Jacobs' absence in Raiders' camp? Zamir White.

Amid Jacobs' tense holdout, White has officially been named as Las Vegas' RB1, albeit on the team's first unofficial depth chart for 2023.

Jacobs had the lion's share of playing time in the Raiders' running back room last season, but White, a 2022 fourth-round pick, did see some snaps as a rookie. If Jacobs keeps holding out of camp, or if the Raiders rescind Jacobs' franchise tag altogether, White will be in line to take the starting job.

The Raiders also have depth pieces Ameer Abdullah, Brandon Bolden, Brittain Brown, and Sincere McCormick.

Las Vegas' front office reportedly hasn't given up on Jacobs yet and is open to restarting contract talks ahead of the 2023 season. Jacobs, who rushed for a league-leading 1,653 yards and 97.2 yards per game, hasn't given any indication whether he wants to take a seat at the table again.

Until Jacobs and the Raiders reconcile, White is the next man up in camp right now — best believe he'll make the most of this opportunity.

NFL Rumors: Dalvin Cook dropped major free agency hint in workout video

Of course one of the best free agent running backs remaining would be working out in the state as Lionel Messi.

Former Vikings back Dalvin Cook posted a workout video on Twitter on Tuesday, and discerning users couldn't help but notice the background. A street lined with palm trees. Which, obviously, can only mean one thing: Cook is in Miami.

So, maybe it's a stretch. Maybe Miami isn't the only city in the country with palm trees. We suppose that's a faint possibility.

But operating on the assumption that Cook is actually in Miami, he could be inching toward a deal with the Dolphins as we speak.

This is far from new information. Cook has been rumored to join the Dolphins since he was released by Minnesota earlier in the offseason, and he's also been linked the Bills and the Jets.

With fellow free agent Kareem Hunt potentially inking a deal soon, Cook could be the next running back domino to fall. Keep an eye for any more Cook sightings in Miami.

NFL Rumors: Aaron Rodgers offers friendly advice for No. 1 pick Bryce Young

Even after he's left the Packers, Aaron Rodgers is still one-upping Brett Favre.

The new Jets quarterback was happy to help Jordan Love learn the ropes at Green Bay for the last three years, and he's been chumming it up with Zach Wilson for the past few months. Why not spread his gospel to one more young signal-caller in the league?

In a recent press conference, Rodgers gave 2023 No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young a few friendly tips. Be gentle with yourself, hold onto your confidence, and don't forget to enjoy the ride.

The Panthers' quarterback of the future will have an enormous amount of expectations on his shoulders heading into his rookie season, and Rodgers, a former first-round pick himself, likely just wants to make sure Young doesn't beat himself up too much in 2023.

In his first year as the Packers starter back in 2008, Rodgers finished with a 6-10 record, completed less than 64 percent of his passes, and threw 13 interceptions.

Panthers' Bryce Young doesn't have the luxury of having three years on the bench to develop his skills, and chances are his rookie season won't go according to plan. Bumps, snags, rookie pains — it's all part of the process.

Rodgers' career — and that of many successful past and present quarterbacks — is proof that one unimpressive rookie season doesn't define you. We don't see Jets fans and the NYC media bulldogs being too "gentle" with Zach Wilson, so Young should thank his lucky stars he didn't end up in The City That's Never Satisfied. The NFC South ain't pretty, but at least Carolina offers a more forgiving spring board for Young's fledgling career.
