The Stanley Cup Final continues tonight when the Vegas Golden Knights and Florida Panthers head to Sunrise for a pivotal Game 3.
If the Golden Knights win tonight and extend their lead to 3-0, they might as well start engraving their names into Lord Stanley's Cup.
I've been hot with my bets so far this series so let's see if I can keep it up tonight. Just like I did in the first two games, I'll give you my best bet on the moneyline, total, and my favorite player prop.
Best NHL bets for Stanley Cup Game 3
- Golden Knights +100 vs. Panthers
- OVER 6 (-110)
- Adin Hill OVER 30.5 saves (-124)
Golden Knights +100 vs. Panthers
I see no reason to not back the Golden Knights to keep things rolling. Not only have they been the better team on the scoresheet, but the analytics back up their play as well. They lead the Panthers in expected goals and high-danger scoring chances.
Sergei Bobrovsky will get another shot in between the pipes tonight, but I think we're finally seeing him play to his true ability at his current age. The long break between the conference championship and the Stanley Cup Final, may have halted his momentum.
Let's remember that he had a save percentage in the regular season of just .901, along with a goals against average of 3.07.
At 34, that's a lot closer to the goalie we should come to expect as opposed to the .925 save percentage he has in the postseason.
The clock has struck midnight for Bobrovsky and the Panthers. It's Golden Knights or nothing for me tonight.
OVER 6 (-110)
There's a reason sportsbooks increased the total from 5.5 in the first two games to 6 in Game 3. The series has been full of shootouts and it's not only due to poor goaltending from the Panthers.
The two teams have combined for an expected goals per 60 minutes has been 7.1 through the first two contests, still well over the set total for tonight's Game 3.
Both clubs have also averaged a combined 32 high-danger scoring chances per game and 64 shots on net. Those are not the types of numbers that you'd want to see if you want to back the UNDER
Unless Bobrovsky becomes dominant again, and I don't expect him to, then go ahead and take the OVER if you want to bet on the total.
Adin Hill OVER 30.5 saves (-124)
If the Panthers want to get back in the series, they're going to need to have an all out offensive blitz, especially now that they may not have as much confidence in their goaltending as they had heading into the series.
They had 35 shots on goal in Game 1 and 31 shots on goal in Game 2. Now, with the series returning to their home ice in Florida, I expect them to be able to crank up their offensive production even more.
Adin Hill has stood strong for the Golden Knights and I won't be surprised if he does the same tonight.
