Nick Saban is not done coaching yet, so quit askin'!
Although he is on the wrong side of 70, Saban ain't done winnin' yet. In fact, he's just getting started! While many of the sport's greatest coaches led programs far longer than they should have, Saban is a youthful 70-something. He may have only recently figured out how to do the email, but he's fast, thorough and sharp as a tack. So it'll be a piece of cake to coach ball forever.
Well, he did tell 2025 five-star wide receiver and Alabama commit Ryan Williams that he plans on coaching until the bitter end. They are going to have to drag his corpse off the field, apparently…

Time may be running out for Saban, but you can't blame a blue-chipper in-state like Williams for wanting to commit to the Tide. When you are the No. 3 player nationally and the No. 1 guy from The Yellowhammer State, you should go play for Alabama, all things equal. Of course, a lot can change between now and January 2025, when Williams could potentially enroll early on campus.
The last time the Crimson Tide won a national title was in 2020, and the last time they won it all in a non-COVID year was in … 2017. Although College Football Playoff expansion is coming to the sport we love so much in 2024, what is to stop Saban from hanging up the headset and calling it a career after one more championship? He already has seven, but he only has six while at Alabama…
Frankly, we should not expect for the bottom to fall out of the bag in the immediate aftermath of whenever Saban decides to finally retire. This is a top-tier program for a reason. Replacing Saban will not come easy, but this is a job that would be attractive to some of the best offensive and defensive minds in the coaching sphere. Maybe one of them will coach Williams later this decade?
Saban has earned the right to coach as long as he wants, but until he croaks sounds very morbid.
