Packers rumors: Jordan Love could get his own Randall Cobb

In the new Jordan Love era, the Packers have been busy loading up on talent, and the team's recent plans could include giving Love a veteran target.

The Green Bay Packers have lost key offensive players like Aaron Rodgers, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb this offseason, but they haven't lost hope.

In the wake of the Rodgers trade, the Packers appear to have plans to fortify their passing offense, equipping Jordan Love with the weapons he needs to succeed in his first season as starter.

Already on the depth chart, Green Bay boasts two young pass-catchers in Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs, last year's mid-round draft picks. Their talent aside, Watson and Doubs could use some veteran leadership and direction on the field, and the Packers have already been looking for help out wide: Green Bay reportedly hosted wideout Keke Coutee for a workout on Tuesday.

The 2018 fourth-rounder spent the first three years of his career on the Houston Texans before moving to the Indianapolis Colts.

Coutee played just ten games for the Colts in the last two years, which makes his recent sample size of on-field play extremely small; on the Texans, however, he was able to compile a modest campaign of 33 catches and 400 yards.

Coutee has found success as a punt returner, too, returning 17 punts for 152 yards for Indy in 2022.

His versatile skillset and years of experience could make him a cheap value add for the Packers this offseason, but fans are probably thinking they could do just a little better.

If anything, the 26-year-old Coutee will receive a bare-bones prove-it deal and get rotational reps as the most seasoned wideout on the depth chart.

Even though Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Ravens and DeAndre Hopkins seems to be staying in Arizona, the Packers could go after other intriguing free agent options like Jarvis Landry, Julio Jones, or even ex-Chiefs wideout Byron Pringle, players with a bit more production in recent years than Coutee.

The motive for this offseason is clear as day: get Love some help. With nearly all the vestiges of the Rodgers era washed away, the Packers have an exciting opportunity to start anew in 2023 — don't screw it up.
