WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO: Paige Spiranac chose to commemorate The Open by making a joke about her chest using a photo of Phil Mickelson. The 30-year-old social media influencer made a hilarious 'eye contact' quip about Phil Mickelson.

The Open Championship is the world's oldest golf competition, which originated in 1860 at Prestwick Golf Club in Scotland and has since been organized by the R&A.

The 'Playing A Round' podcast presenter took to Twitter on Wednesday to share a snapshot of Mickelson during a practice round at Royal Liverpool Golf Club, where the 2013 British Open champion flashed a big smile during a conversation. Mickelson, 52, was wide-eyed and happy as he chatted with Jon Rahm before the 151st edition of the major.

Spiranac wrote, "How men look when they are trying their hardest to maintain eye contact with me."

Spiranac and Mickelson have a past. When the rival LIV Golf League permitted their players to wear shorts, Mickelson chastised the PGA Tour for not allowing joggers and ankle socks. Mickelson posted, "The Tour doesn’t allow shorts but does allow this weeks leader to wear joggers with ankle socks? Showing 4 inches of ankle? I’m no fashion guy, never will be, but there are some things I won’t ever understand."

She previously alleged that Mickelson's wife Amy and their three children had also blocked her on social media. Spiranac wote, "Sums up my life in the golf industry lol".

'But can you blame us'

Several of Spiranac's fans then commented on the remark, with one writing, "But can you blame us". Another fan wrote, "It’d be a challenge for anyone." "It would be a challenge, no question. Of course, you have beautiful eyes as well," said one fan.

Spiranac then uploaded a message on Twitter with over one million views, expressing her delight at the funniest comments she had received. She urged others to share crazy and amusing comments because she is not offended by them. Spiranac wants her comments area to be a secure place for users to express themselves without fear of repercussions.
