NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'Today' host Al Roker is a fan favorite and one can easily tell from the amount of love he constantly receives from his audiences. Al has been subject to numerous health crises recently, which has fans worried, stirring concern every time something unexpected happens in New York City.
It was no different this time as fans were extremely worried about Al when he started reporting about the weather while the air quality index was extremely high. Al's health is a frequent matter of concern, which caused fans to urge him to get inside. With the AQI being 170 due to the Quebec wildfires, Al reported that the smoke situation was only going to cause more problems.
Should fans be worried about Al?
The air quality of New York and most eastern states of the country has been affected due to the wildfires and fans really should be worrying about Al because he did not even use a mask while reporting the weather. The 'Today' meteorologist stood outside the plaza to report the weather and reported that the intense smoke would exist for one more day.
Since 2022, Al was exposed to health concerns that started with Covid, after which he had blood clots in his lungs and legs, for which he was hospitalized, reports The Sun. He was absent from the morning show without a proper explanation and, most recently, he had to go through knee replacement surgery. Al took weeks to recover from the surgery but once he came back, his fans and his co-hosts were elated about his recovery.
'Al should have a mask on with his health issues outside'
Fans do not want Al to suffer again and expect the 'Today' show producers to take good care of him. One Twitter user said, "Please bring @alroker back inside. He’s been through so much with his health. Cringing as I watch him broadcasting from outside." Another user suggested, "Al should have a mask on with his health issues outside." A third user asked, "And nobody thought to offer anyone out there a mask?"
Another Twitter user recommended, "Wear a mask to help with the smoke!" Meanwhile, a fifth user made a sarcastic remark that 'Today' was reporting outside amid such pollution and breathing it all in, stating, "While you guys have a show outside in NYC breathing it all in." Another commenter was extremely adamant about how Al can do better to protect himself and said, "You can better protect yourself though," and went on to explain how they do the same, saying, "I'm running my air purifier in my home office. Luckily, I work from home as a published author and a franchise consultant. I also upped my detox protocol, and I'm taking extra of my fruit and veggie capsules for cellular support."
