Pokémon GO Price Increases to Hit Worldwide

Pokémon GO developer Niantic says in-game prices will increase in several markets starting Wednesday as a result of Apple's decision to raise prices in the Eurozone.

American players will be spared the price increase, but players in Poland, Sweden, Chile, Egypt, Japan and several others will all be affected. And although Apple's decision to raise prices in the Eurozone App Store is driving the price increase, players on Android will also be forced to pay increased in-game prices.

  • Territories that use the Euro currency
  • Chile
  • Egypt

  • Malaysia

Apple Store Price Increases to Affect Pokémon GO Players on Android

"We know that changes to pricing and currency are impactful to our community across all Niantic games — Pokémon GO, Ingress and Pikmin Bloom — and we wanted to provide proactive notice that some players will experience an increase in in-game currency prices starting as early as Oct. 5," Niantic wrote in a blog post.

"This update is due to changes in App Store price tiers. We will also make similar changes on other mobile platforms."

Niantic has not revealed new item prices. Apple announced its plan to raise App Store prices last month, making €0.99 items now cost €1.19 and €9.99 items cost €11.99.
