The Rams suffered a brutal blow to their 2023 season following star wideout Cooper Kupp's injury in camp. Here's what we know.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp exited training camp practice early on Tuesday with the team's athletic staff after presumably getting injured.
The details of Kupp's health status were not revealed in Sean McVay's media session later that day since McVay was still waiting for an update.
All McVay said about Kupp was that his medical staff told him Kupp was "out for practice"; McVay theorized that Kupp hurt himself while running a route in the red zone.
Kupp suffered a high ankle sprain late in the 2022 season that limited him to nine games. Still, the 30-year-old wideout led the team in catches, yards, and receiving touchdowns, and he ranked second in targets that year.
The bat signal has officially been lit up — the Rams may need another superhero to step into Kupp's shoes.

Training camp injuries can be brutal, as seen in the case of Broncos wideout Tim Patrick tearing his Achilles a day before. There's no need for the Rams to panic before finding out the extent of Kupp's injury, but the news does dampen season hopes a bit.
At the end of the 2022 season, Kupp underwent surgery to to repair his ankle, causing him to miss his team's OTAs. He was spotted fully participating in Rams training camp when it began on July 25.
Kupp was expected to receive the lion's share of targets once again in 2023 with another year under his belt playing with Matthew Stafford. The uber-talented wideout easily stands out as Los Angeles' premier threat, as the rest of the receiver room still has to fight for a starting role in camp.
