Red Sox had the perfect response to Celtics forcing Game 7

The Boston Red Sox were enjoying the Celtics triumphant comeback from down 3-0 to lock it at three apiece and force a win-or-go-home Game 7.

Thanks to the sneaky tip-in from Derrick White, the Boston Celtics are headed home for Game 7 against the Miami Heat after looking like the lesser team the first three games, falling behind 3-0.

They could pull off one of the most impressive comebacks in NBA history. In fact, it would be the first-ever comeback from being down 3-0 in league history. Arguably, the Celtics could pull off the greatest comeback ever.

That game will be Tuesday, and for now, Celtics fans are flying high, but nervously anticipating the final game of the series along with Miami fans.

Jimmy Butler and the Heat guaranteed a Game 6 victory but did not pull it out. The world reacted as you might expect, by absolutely clowning the Heat.

The Red Sox got in on the celebration as well with a reaction of their own.

Red Sox react to Celtics forcing a Game 7

The Boston Red Sox replied to the Celtics Tweet announcing the forced Game 7 with, "we love a game 7."

This can only be presumed to be a reference, at least loosely, to the 2004 ALCS where the Yankees went up 3-0 (including a 19-8 win in Game 3), only to lose four straight to the Red Sox. Boston went on to sweep the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series.

That, to this day, is the only time an MLB team has come back from a 3-0 deficit, though there are more best-of-five series in the MLB postseason than in the NBA, so there are fewer theoretical opportunities for 3-0 to happen.

The Celtics are up against it and look to make history, just like the Red Sox did in 2004. Awaiting whoever comes out of this series is the Denver Nuggets, who have been resting since Monday after they defeated the Los Angeles Lakers to win the Western Conference Championship.
