ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA: A former beau of Elizabeth Lyn Vargas, who was featured on the popular reality show 'The Real Housewives of Orange County', has been sentenced to six years in prison for assaulting her. Ryan Matthew Geraghty, 34, entered a guilty plea which led to his immediate sentencing. The incident took place in February 2022 and resulted in a two-hour standoff with the police at Vargas' home in the 100 block of Medina Way in Newport Beach.

Though police and prosecutors have not confirmed the victim's identity, Vargas' manager confirmed that she was the one involved in the assault. The incident has brought to the fore the issue of domestic violence, which remains a widespread problem in the United States.
