LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: SAG-AFTRA's guideline for its members to not dress as characters from "struck content" for Halloween has elicited a quirky response from 'Deadpool' star Ryan Reynolds.

Halloween is just around the corner and everyone is trying their creative best to dress up for the spooky season. However, SAG-AFTRA issued an official guideline where the union gave suggestions on how to "celebrate Halloween this year while also staying in solidarity" with them.

The statement suggested that members "choose costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures (ghost, zombie, spider, etc.)." They also suggested that members "dress up as characters from non-struck content, like an animated TV show," instead.

They also advised the striking actors not to "post photos of costumes inspired by struck content to social media."

Towards the end of the infographic, they said, "Let's use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our struck employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract!"

Ryan Reynolds' hilarious response to the guideline

The Marvel star known for his hilarious quips on social media took to X to post about his predicament, "I look forward to screaming “scab” at my 8 year old all night. She’s not in the union but she needs to learn."

Because of SAG-AFTRA's strike that started on July 14, the filming of Reynolds' 'Deadpool 3' has been halted. The superhero film also stars Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine.

It has also been reported earlier that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively donated $1 million to SAG-AFTRA's Emergency Financial Assistance Program to provide emergency assistance to the striking actors, per E! News.

Netizens come up with creative ideas

Fans became creative in their suggestions after Reynolds put up a quirky post with reference to SAG-AFTRA's guidelines.

One of the fans suggested, "Maybe you could dress as a bandage."

As a reply to the Marvel star's post regarding his eight-year-old, someone else joked, "It's never too early to learn about the importance of unions. Maybe start with a children's book on the subject?"

"...Bed Sheet Ghost is Charlie Brown...," said another fan.

Someone else gave an ingenious idea, as they quipped, "Actors should just dress up as one another, not characters. @VancityReynolds could dress up as Kate Beckinsale, Blake could dress up as Hugh Jackman."

"Maybe she could dress as Fran Drescher and start reading rules at people who dissent from this most glorious edict," said another fan.

"I don't suppose those @mintmobile extra-large pocket pants work as a #SAGAFTRA-approved Halloween costume?" asked a fan of Reynolds.

"Or, hear me out now, make her a scab costume, it'll be one of a kind and the talk of all the houses she visits. Could be the next Barney?!" suggested another social media user.
