Yet another twist at the No. 2 pick.
After it becoming commonly thought that Brandon Miller will be the second pick to the Charlotte Hornets in the 2023 NBA Draft, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported on Thursday afternoon that Scoot Henderson is "gaining serious momentum" to be the No.2 pick.
For the past week or so there have been conflicting reports about Henderson, commonly thought of as the No. 2 prospect behind Victor Wembanyama, and Miller being this selection. Both players were brought back for second workouts in front of outgoing owner Michael Jordan as the team tried to find a decision.
Miller, a sweet shooting wing, fits nicely next to LaMelo Ball, but the Hornets may appear to opt for the upside of Henderson, who dazzled with the G-League Ignite this past season.
This is a developing story, but right after the Charania report, Henderson re-opened as a -900 favorite to go No. 2 after reaching as high as +350 on Wednesday evening. Miller was set at +450 to be the second pick.
These odds will be on the move as more information comes out and the Hornets finalize its draft board.
For now, Henderson is the overwhelming favorite to go second.
