Sony used the San Diego Comic-Con to reveal more details about the forthcoming Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but also took the opportunity to announce a limited edition PS5 console design that will bundle the game.
As the PlayStation.Blog reveals, Sony is set to launch a limited edition bundle including a PS5 console and DualSense wireless controller sporting a custom Spider-Man 2 design. The bundle will also include a voucher for a digital copy of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Standard Edition.
Speaking about the custom design, Jacinda Chew, Senior Art Director, Insomniac Games said:
"The design was inspired by the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, but you can still see some of the underlying red under the tendrils. This represents the various ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push and pull for dominance whether it’s internal or external and the outcome is not certain."
Spider-Man fans who already own a PS5 will be happy to hear Sony is going to sell the custom covers and DualSense controller separately, so you can upgrade the look of your console without having to buy another one.
Sony intends to start selling the limited edition bundle, custom covers, and custom DualSense controller on Sept. 1, but the bundle can be pre-ordered from July 28. Anyone ordering the console bundle will need to wait until Spider-Man 2 releases on Oct. 20 before redeeming their digital voucher.
