Stan Van Gundy trolls Tyler Herro for sideline fashion choices

Tyler Herro has been watching the NBA Playoffs from the bench, recovering from a broken hand and Stan Van Gundy is apparently tired of his fashion choices.

What do you wear on a sick day from work? Sweatpants maybe? An oversized hoody, the one with the grease stains from that poorly made carnitas burrito that fell apart in your hands? Maybe a beanie if you're feeling chilled? For most of us, fashion isn't a factor because no one is going to see us. You just wear whatever you're comfortable in and rest up.

An NBA player not healthy enough to play doesn't have that luxury. They're often on the sideline, television cameras in their face and fans all around them. If they choose comfort, they risk being called out, like Tyler Herro was by former Heat coach Stan Van Gundy during Game 5 against the Celtics.

Before you get your back up defending Herro and wondering where Van Gundy and his Ned Flanders mustache gets the moral authority to comment on Herro's fashion choices, remember that you're talking about a man who knows style.

When will Tyler Herro be back for the Miami Heat?

Herro has been sidelined since he broke his hand during Game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against the New York Knicks. He was recently cleared to resume basketball activities but there is no timeline for his return to the court and even if the Heat make it to the NBA Finals, it's not clear that he'd be available for any of that series.

The Heat are particularly short on guard depth right now. In addition to Herro, Victor Oladipo is out with a torn patellar tendon and Gabe Vincent, who has stepped up in Herro's absence, missed Game 5 against the Celtics with a sprained ankle. The Heat are hoping Vincent can return for Game 6, as they attempt to close out Boston and punch their ticket to the Finals, Saturday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
