LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: SZA is now revealing more details after alluding to undergoing cosmetic surgery on her second album, 'SOS'. The 33-year-old songstress opened up about her decision to have a Brazilian butt lift in a May 31 interview with Elle. In it, she emphasizes that it was a choice born out of self-love following a moment of genuine self-reflection.
"I treat my bu** like a purse... It’s just there to enhance whatever else," she shared with the publication, before adding, "And that’s why I paid for it, because it works all by itself." She further explained that she always desired to have a voluptuous backside "with less gym time," before adding, "I didn’t succumb to industry pressure. I succumbed to my own eyes in the mirror and being like, 'No, I need some more a**'."
'No guilt about it'
Although fans had previously speculated about the singer resorting to cosmetic surgery to achieve her hourglass figure, SZA added fuel to the fire in the title track of 'SOS', released in December 2022. "So classic, that a** so fat, it look natural, it's not," reads the lyrics. In the track 'Conceited', she responds to the speculation surrounding her body by singing, "I just got my body done, ain't got no guilt about it; I just heard your opinion, I could've did without it"
When asked about addressing the speculation through her music, SZA told Elle, "That’s some Jersey sh**. You know what I’m saying? When I feel like I have too much to say and I don’t want to say it cute." "I have a deep desire to shut everyone up," she said, before adding, "And that probably comes from high school and all that type of sh**. My mom always told me that I’ve always been the kind of person where people either really f**k with me or they just don’t like me at all."
Blac Chyna's transformation
Having said that, SZA is not the only celebrity who has recently been open about their experiences of going under the knife. In March, Blac Chyna candidly shared her journey of reversing her cosmetic procedures, including a breast reduction, removal of silicone injections from her buttocks, and fillers from her face. Before removing her fillers, Chyna, whose birth name is Angela White, explained her decision. "I'm just tired of the look. It's simply not flattering. It's just not who I truly am," she revealed to her doctors and her fans in an Instagram live video, before adding, "It completely transformed my face, and I'm ready to reclaim my true identity as Angela. Blac Chyna is Blac Chyna, and I feel like I've outgrown that".
‘Oh, I miss my baby face’
Chyna also disclosed that her initial decision to get facial fillers was made at a very young age. "I did it when I was so young, I didn't even allow my body time to fully develop," she added, acknowledging that her face has naturally slimmed over time. "Just trust me, it will happen. As you grow older, you will achieve the defined facial features you desire and need. And when you reach that stage, you'll say, 'Oh, I miss my baby face'," she said. Chyna then revealed her new and more natural look after removing the fillers during an interview with Forbes.
She shared with the outlet why she had decided to let go of her stage name, Blac Chyna, and embrace her birth name. "Well, it was given to me at birth, but mostly, it's about rediscovering myself," she explained, and added, "Because, you know, in the entertainment industry, everyone always addresses me as 'Hey Blac Chyna, Chyna Chyna.' Nobody ever calls me Angela. So sometimes I would forget who I am because it's always about the brand, brand, brand, and not the person."
