The October international window halted many leagues, but not MLS.

Six teams faced off this past weekend to make up previously postponed matches, giving fans some great goals to focus on while Decision Day nears on October 21. FC Dallas held the Colorado Rapids to a 1-1 with a phenomenal goal by Alan Velasco, while Nashville SC triumphed over the New England Revolution with two tallies from Sam Surridge.

Despite the limited action, here are our goals of the week…

5. Diego Luna (vs LA Galaxy)

First up, we have Diego Luna vs LA Galaxy.

The young figure scored the equalizer on Saturday night to earn his side one point heading into Decision Day. RSL already qualified to the playoffs, leaving players like Luna to use these games as practice for the knockout rounds while fighting for the Cup.

4. Douglas Costa (vs Real Salt Lake)

It may have taken the Brazilian a bit to get accustomed to MLS, but now he cannot stop. He doubled the team's score against RSL on Saturday night with a great strike into the opposite corner of the net to manage the 2-2 draw.

The Galaxy are eliminated from playoff contention, but there is no reason we can't enjoy this goals.

3. Sam Surridge (vs NE Revolution)

The Nashville figure scored two goals against the Revolution, but it's his second that earns a place on this list. His right-footed shot into the opposite corner of the net ended up winning the game for the home side, establishing their seventh place finish on the Eastern Confernece table ahead of the final gameday of the season.

2. Dax McCarty (vs NE Revolution)

After a teammate hit the post, Dax McCarty sealed the team's first goal with a phenomenal effort. There was no way to stop the right-footed volley into the top of the net, even NE Revolution goalkeeper Jacob Jackson stood still.

1. Alan Velasco (vs Colorado Rapids)

FC Dallas failed to clinch a playoff spot with the 1-1 draw to the Colorado Rapids, heading into Decision Day with one objective: winning. But it'll be a lot easier to do with Alan Velasco on the team, as the young player has consistently proven himself in 2023.

His first half equalizer was one to watch, and perfectly explained why he earned the top spot on this year's MLS 22 under 22!
