LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: All good things must come to an end and that includes Prime Video’s ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’. This drama-comedy has secured a place in the hearts of several fans that it has garnered over the last five seasons. From the brilliant casting to the engaging plot, ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ had it all. However, after some successful seasons, this series is concluding with Season 5.
When the end of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ was first announced, it sent fans into a frenzy, especially those who deemed this series their favorite, and a reliable source of comfort. As much as seeing Rachel Brosnahan on our screens brightened our day, the creator of the series, Amy Sherman-Palladino, explains why ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ must end.

Midge takes the stage one last time
More often than not, television series tend to overstay their welcome and lose their charm. Some examples of this notion are shows like ‘The Walking Dead’ or ‘Supernatural.’ This is why the series on streaming platforms these days decide to end the story when they deem necessary, like when ‘Fleabag’ ended with only two seasons, despite the raging success. Sometimes, the plot comes to a natural end, and that’s the case with ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ too. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Sherman-Palladino says, “We want to make sure that like everybody walked away from this feeling fulfilled and that their characters got what was coming to them.”
Prime Video gave Sherman-Palladino a window on anywhere between eight to 10 episodes of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ and she chose the magic No 9. Although her heart was set on ending the series, it made sure that the entire cast and crew were on the same page about this decision, even though that didn’t make saying goodbye any easier. ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ Season 5 has seen Midge Maisel on the brink of being the most successful she has ever been, and once that point is achieved, The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ comes to a natural and inevitable end.
Could there be in spin-off series?
If the Kardashians can get spin-off shows like ‘Kourtney & Khloé Take the Hamptons’, we don’t see why Susie and Midge can’t take over Europe, or something along those lines. While a spin-off series about any character from ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ would be interesting, nothing has been confirmed or talked about just yet. Sherman-Palladino, the cast, and the crew of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ have made it fairly clear to the viewers that Midge’s story of success, love, and life is coming to an end with Season 5!
You can stream all five seasons of ‘The Marvelous Mrs Maisel’ on Prime Video.
