'Today' host Al Roker claps back at troll who mocks his breakfast choice for his son: 'He makes great choices'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Today’ host Al Roker's audacious clap back at a troll who tried to put him down for cooking a sumptuous meal for his son has won the hearts of many fans. The 68-year-old meteorologist has recently been spending some time with his son Nick and decided to whip up a meal for him as he shares the same love for food as his father does.

Al prepared crispy bacon, a cheese omelet, and a croissant, with a glass of orange juice to wash it all down. Al snapped a quick photo and uploaded it on his Instagram. However, the choice of this breakfast was the subject of controversy for a troll who brought forth the problems of eating this unhealthy meal, commenting, “Maybe you’re setting his diet for midlife crisis as failing.” Al didn’t like the attack on his parenting skills and instantly clapped back with a befitting comment.

How did Al Roker respond to the troll?

Al’s meal for his son was a traditional filling breakfast that could help anyone power up for the rest of the day. After posting the picture of the meal on Instagram, Al captioned it, “For Nick this morning after his morning run, cheese omelette, bacon, and a croissant.” While some fans found it extremely adorable, one was completely unimpressed by this breakfast choice. The troll commented, “Maybe you’re setting his diet for midlife crisis as failing.” They continued, "Maybe a scrambled egg without cheese, whole grain seeded toast & tomato slices? Just a thought. Diet habits are hard to change. Coming from a gal that was raised on biscuits & gravy, ham hocks & beans, and buttery cornbread.”

Al was quick to respond to this troll and defended his choice and his son. He said, “Thanks for the concern. He just had returned from a 3-mile run. He did a:30 Peloton after that. Works as a groundskeeper at a local ballpark, comes home, does another run, and eats sensibly for lunch and dinner. He makes great choices.” The response from Al softened the troll’s blow who later commented that they didn’t “mean to be critical” of Al’s breakfast choice but were only concerned. The commenter replied, “I didn’t mean to be critical. Just a mother of 4 , grandmother of 8 and been around the block with eating habits . He’s young and can absorb it all . I’m talking about diet habits and how hard it is to break when you can’t do that anymore . Been there done that .” The person added, “And as you always promote on the today show , eating g habits are hard . It’s a lifetime of learning .

Love you and your show ! You all rock . And thanks for sharing your life with us .” The troll’s negativity, therefore, couldn’t last long as Al’s fans flooded the comments complimenting and praising his parenting skills.

‘You’re the best Dad’

After the troll also expressed their love for Al, other fans of the 68-year-old meteorologist took over and went on with their heartfelt comments about Al’s skills as a father. “You’re the best Dad,” one fan wrote, while another said, “Couldn’t ask for a better dad!!!” A third said, “Healthy and Balanced! Best Dad!” A fourth stated, "Omg if I were nick I’d never leave home.” A fifth chimed, “A beautiful and hearty demonstration of love.”
