Top 90: The best players in the Premier League - 60-51 ranked

It's fairly common knowledge at this point that the Premier League is, by quite a distance, the best league in the world.

The league is home to the European champions, teams who can spend a combined £1.5bn on new players this summer, the best manager possibly of all time (Pep Guardiola), and - perhaps most importantly - the best footballers in the world.

Ahead of the 2023/24 season we at 90min thought we'd have a crack at predicting who the top 90 players will be in the Premier League next season.

Here's the rankings from 60-51:

CHECK OUT 90MIN'S PREMIER LEAGUE TOP 90

60. Michael Olise

Club: Crystal Palace
Position: Wide forward

Last season, Michael Olise went from a highly-touted young talent to one of the best young players in the Premier League.

Particularly under the guidance of Roy Hodgson, the 21-year-old took his game to a completely new level and we expect that progression to continue in 2023/24.

59. Oleksandr Zinchenko

Club: Arsenal
Position: Defender

Do Arsenal challenge for the 2022/23 Premier League title if they didn't sign Oleksandr Zinchenko?

The answer: likely not.

The inverted full-back makes Mikel Arteta's tactical system work. He's a quality player and a leader at the back for the Gunners.

58. Mateo Kovacic

Club: Manchester City
Position: Midfielder

Mateo Kovacic signing for Manchester City this summer made so, so much sense.

The midfielder is a quintessential Pep Guardiola player and will be surefire hit at the Etihad Stadium in 2023/24.

57. Antony

Club: Manchester United
Position: Wide forward

It's fair to say that, for an £85m signing, Antony got a lot of leeway for his performances last season.

During the upcoming season, he will not be afforded such leeway from Man Utd fans who have given him time to adjust to life in the Premier League.

He is a quality player on his day, and we expect those days to be less few and far between in the upcoming campaign.

56. Phil Foden

Club: Manchester City
Position: Midfielder

One of the most talented English players in the Premier League, Foden hit a career best 11 league goals last campaign as City won a historic treble.

With Riyad Mahrez now out of the picture Foden will likely become an even more important player for Guardiola moving forward.

55. Sandro Tonali

Club: Newcastle United
Position: Midfielder

The whole of football Twitter is convinced that Sandro Tonali does not want to be playing for Newcastle United.

And while that very well may be true, that doesn't mean he won't put in serious shift for the Magpies midfield next season and make them a better team than they've perhaps ever been.

54. Mason Mount

Club: Manchester United
Position: Midfielder

It says a lot about Mason Mount that Erik ten Hag was hellbent on bringing him to Old Trafford this summer.

The £55m signing is going to be key player for Ten Hag's new-look Man Utd.

53. Emiliano Martinez

Club: Aston Villa
Position: Goalkeeper

The World Cup winner is one of the best shot stoppers in the Premier League, and he has been ever since he rocked up at Villa Park a few seasons ago.

He'll continue to be next season too.

52. Julian Alvarez

Club: Manchester City
Position: Forward

Signed as a deputy to Erling Haaland, it's become abundantly clear that Julian Alvarez is simply too good to be sitting on the Man City bench.

In order to find a way to get the Argentine into the starting XI, Guardiola looks set to utilise him in the role recently vacated by Ilkay Gundogan at the tip of Man City's thoroughly impressive midfield.

51. Josko Gvardiol

Club: Manchester City
Position: Defender

Yes, another Manchester City.

This is a new one though, with Gvardiol very recently making the move to Man City. The defender was one of the stars of the World Cup and, within the next year, he'll probably be in the 'best centre-back in the world' conversation. He's that good.
