BUCHAREST, ROMANIA: Tristan Tate recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to applaud the reality TV series 'The Contender', which originally ran between 2005 and 2009.

Tristan Tate calls 'The Contender' 'the single greatest TV series'

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) Tristan Tate wrote, ""The Contender" was the single greatest TV series ever produced. Alfonzo Gomez was my guy. 16/17 years ago, I know I’m getting old. When are they all at today? @TheSlyStallone."

According to Apple TV, 'The Contender' was an unscripted TV show featuring 16 professional boxers competing for a life-changing opportunity.

Hosted and mentored by legends Sugar Ray Leonard and Sylvester Stallone, the series took the contestants through intense training and challenging experiences and only one boxer would emerge as 'The Contender' champion.

In his post, Tate remembered Alfonso Gomez, a former professional boxer from Mexico, who was a part of the debut season of 'The Contender' and finished third among the sixteen fighters.
