USMNT news: Adams' next move, Aaronson's future, Tillman switches

Today's USMNT news focuses on the future of Leeds United duo Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson. Also, Timothy Tillman has switched from Germany to represent the Stars and Stripes.

USMNT news: Tyler Adams' next move

Leeds United are in serious danger of being relegated on the final day of the Premier League season this Sunday. The Yorkshire side is 19th in the division and needs to beat Tottenham Hotspur and hope other results go their way if they are to stay in the division.

Going down will put the Leeds futures of Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson up in the air. Weston McKennie — who is only on loan from Juventus — is expected to return to his parent club this summer.

Adams has been one of Leeds' best players, the midfielder being out of action since March has shown how vital he is to the side. He will be in demand this summer and there are rumors that Arsenal, Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid are interested.

However, according to The Athletic, Leeds are "very keen" to keep him, whether they go down or not. This could be difficult if they are playing in the Championship next season. Adams will want to play at the highest level and the financial blow of relegation will affect whether the club will be able to keep their best players.

USMNT news: Brenden Aaronson's future

Brenden Aaronson is set to stay at Leeds United for next season even if they suffer relegation. The forward was signed for $29.5 million last year but he is yet to live up to the price tag as he has scored just once and made three assists in 35 Premier League matches.

Leeds will not be able to recoup much of the money that was spent on the player, so staying at Elland Road is likely. MLS Transfers has reported that "Leeds have made it clear to Brenden Aaronson that he is expected to stay at the club for the 2023/2024 season regardless if they stay in the Premier League or get relegated to the Championship."

If he is to play in English soccer's second tier next season then it would be a step down for Aaronson. However, playing at a lower level will give him an opportunity to regain the form that he showed at Red Bull Salzburg which earned him his move to Leeds.

USMNT news: Timothy Tillman switches

The USMNT has done a great job at recruiting dual-nationals recently with Folarin Balogun committing to the cause. The Stars and Stripes have delivered another player with FIFA approving Timothy Tillman's switch from Germany.

Speaking to U.S. Soccer, Tillman said "To represent the United States is obviously making me proud. I'm really honored to do so and I'm looking forward to the future with the United States. Telling my family about it was really exciting. As a kid, my brother (Malik Tillman) and I dreamt of playing for a national team together and now we're one step closer."

It will be exciting to see the LAFC midfielder play alongside his brother Malik for their country. They will become the ninth pair of siblings to represent the USMNT.
