Victoria Valentino: Former Playboy model sues Bill Cosby for allegedly raping her in 1969

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Bill Cosby is being sued by a former Playboy model in a new lawsuit after he was accused of sexual assault. Victoria Valentino claimed that in 1969, the comedian took advantage of her.

After he noticed the then-model crying at a restaurant, Cosby offered her and a friend to pay for a spa treatment. She accused him of putting pills next to their drinks as he claimed it would make them both feel better. Soon after they took the pills, she and her friend felt drowsy, reported Mirror.

Instead of driving them home, the actor took them to his office where Valentino claimed the sexual assault happened. According to the lawsuit, the sexual acts took place after she was drugged and unable to give consent, reported TMZ.

'It’s not about money, it’s about accountability'

Valentino stated that she is seeking compensation for the loss of earnings and the emotional distress she has experienced. Andrew Wyatt, the representative for Cosby, accused the ex-model of changing her story multiple times and suggested that the allegations are part of the efforts to target "accomplished black men in America". "It’s not about money, it’s about accountability. Rape steals something from you that cannot be repaired or restored," the 80-year-old woman told The Washington Post.

'This is bigger than Bill Cosby'

"Media needs to vet Victoria Valentino cautiously and carefully -- because she has changed her alleged accounts of sexual abuse at the hands of Mr Cosby over 10 to 15 times," the representative told TMZ in a statement.

"It's unfortunate that the statute of limitations was put in The Constitution to protect victims and those who are accused -- and it seems that our political figures are caving to click baiters and accumulating likes as opposed to vetting these allegations made by alleged accusers and moving swiftly to create these look back windows -- which are only being created because they incorporate Bill Cosby's name," he added.

"This is bigger than Bill Cosby. This is a target against every black successful man in America like Lebron James, Will Smith, and President Obama," said the representative.

Cosby's history of sexual assault accusations

The disgraced media personality faced several sexual assault allegations previously. In 2005, he was first accused in public after numerous women claimed that the comedian sexually assaulted them after he drugged them and the act took place over a span of several decades. Cosby was sentenced to ten years behind bars after he was found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault in 2018 following the lawsuit filed by the victim Andrea Constand.
