Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will see the addition of some AI combatants in addition to the usual player opponents.
Plenty of news and information on Call of Duty's upcoming Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0 were revealed during yesterday's Call of Duty: Next presentation. For Battle Royale fans, the biggest details were those highlighting the changes heading to the next iteration of Warzone. Along with brand new map 'Al Mazrah' and a reimagined gulag, Warzone 2.0 will be making some big changes to the way players navigate the battlefield.
One of the new additions include that of AI combatants and Strongholds. These AI opponents won't be hostile by default, and instead are mainly present to bring some life to the new map — creating a more living, breathing world. That said, should you wish to take the fight to them, they won't go down easy.
According to the Call of Duty blog, " AI won’t actively pursue you or your squad, and you can choose never to interact with them. AI combatants have a variety of lethality levels and behaviors and are usually encountered in specific areas of the map. While they may defend their territory like a CDL pro, they won’t seek out combat."
This system bears resemblance to the way AI opponents work in Fortnite. Roaming around certain areas of the map, typically non-hostile, but will fight back when provoked.
Strongholds have a high density of AI combatants to take on, if you choose. The AI possesses "a variety of innovative features to their responses depending on your tactics."
Effective infiltrate a Stronghold and you can expect to walk away with some impressive loot.
