In Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0, vehicular combat appears poised to return with some serious upgrades.

From the expanded roster of options to the new gameplay mechanics, here's a breakdown of everything you need to know about vehicles, fuel, and Gas Stations in Warzone 2.

Warzone 2 Vehicles, Fuel, Gas Stations Explained

Warzone 2 is set to feature a roster of 12 vehicles with capabilities that range between land, air and sea:

  • ATV: Nimble three-seater with little protection
  • UTV: All-terrain lightweight four-seater
  • Hatchback: Four-door civilian vehicle without any significant protection
  • Chop Top: Open-air, off-road vehicle that provides little protection
  • SUV: All-terrain civilian 4x4 with a boxy frame
  • GMC Hummer EV: All-electric supertruck engineered for off-road
  • Tactical Vehicle (TAC-V): Specialized light combat vehicle with (or without) a mounted .50 Cal machine gun
  • Cargo Truck: Large industrial vehicle with a flatbed
  • Light Helo: Twin-engine light helicopter for rapid traversal and combat support
  • Heavy Chopper: Heavily armored search-and-rescue helicopter
  • RHIB: Maneuverable tactical boat designed for Special Forces
  • Armored Patrol Boat: Reinforced aquatic vehicle with mounted .50 Cal machine guns

Aside from simply carrying players, Warzone 2's vehicles will feature expanded riding procedures. Passengers in contained vehicles (e.g. hatchback or SUV) can lean out the window to fire their weapons. You can also now climb onto the roof of some ground vehicles from the passenger or driver seat to bail out quickly or even jump on an enemy vehicle. Lastly, players can shoot out tires and blow the doors of vehicles.

Warzone 2 also introduces two factors that have long played roles in vehicular combat in other popular shooter titles: fuel and the ability to repair vehicle damage. Fuel appears as a meter alongside the vehicle’s damage and passenger counter, and can be refilled either with Gas Cans found around the map or at Gas Stations. Once a vehicle runs out of fuel, it no longer works. For land vehicles, tire damage can be fixed by manually interacting with each tire to replace it. All vehicles can also visit Gas Stations to have body damage and tires, if applicable, recovered over time.

It's worth mentioning that despite being an electric car in real life, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup does indeed use the same fuel system as the rest of the vehicles in-game.
