HOUSTON, TEXAS: In an emotional revelation, Rudy Farias, a young Texan who miraculously emerged this month after being missing for nearly a decade, has spoken out about his harrowing ordeal. Rudy claims he was held in captivity by his mother, Janie Santana, who allegedly subjected him to severe emotional abuse and manipulation. Breaking down in tears, he described his life as living "in a prison" and shared details of the alleged abuse he endured.

Furthermore, Rudy, 25, made a troubling claim, stating that his mother had "brainwashed and manipulated" him throughout his captivity in an interview with Fox26Houston. He described feeling trapped and desperate for freedom, enduring distressing abuse and neglect. However, he vehemently denied sexual abuse, stating, "She didn't force herself on me or anything like that... Just stuff that really made me uncomfortable." Sharing a glimpse into his life during the alleged eight years of captivity, Rudy said that he was forced to hide in his bedroom while his family and visitors enjoyed their time together. "I would just have to listen to my family and [be] cheerful on the other side of a f****** door... I'd be like, I just want my family, just want people, just want communication," he narrated emotionally.

Was Rudy Farias really molested by his mother, Janie Santana?

Rudy explained that his mother had gained complete control over his life by manipulating him rather than physically restraining him. She would deceive and abuse him, exploiting his trust through false information that he couldn't verify. This tactic created a sense of dependency and trust for his captor. "It just felt like brainwashing, honestly," he stated. He claimed that Santana exploited his vulnerability and emotional state, constantly bombarding him with negative thoughts. When questioned about how he, as an adult, was maneuvered by his mother, Rudy expressed that it felt like he suffered from Stockholm syndrome, a psychological phenomenon where hostages develop an emotional bond with their captors. He felt mentally held against his will, subjected to relentless negative influences.

Despite making disturbing allegations against his mother, Rudy maintained that he was never sexually abused, clarifying, "I was held against my will, mentally, not physically, she was just constantly bombarding me with negative thoughts." He revealed that for the last eight years, he was "trying to study the best I can online" and "understand how the world works." Houston police have yet to charge Santana with any crimes related to Rudy's captivity. However, he expressed relief at finally being free, saying, "It feels like I'm just at peace now. Just feels happy, you know?"

Dark allegations surface against Janie Santana

When the news of Rudy's discovery spread earlier this month, there was initial excitement in his home state. Santana claimed that her "non-verbal" son's survival was a miracle. However, the situation quickly took a dark turn when Rudy came up with a series of disturbing allegations against his mother, including claims of making him "play daddy" while naked in bed, treating him like a slave, and administering hallucinogenic drugs.

It was reported that Santana had filed a missing person report in 2015, when Rudy was 17, citing his depression and PTSD following the death of his brother in a motorcycle accident in 2011. Neighbors confirmed that he had openly discussed the incident and even stated that they frequently saw Rudy during his alleged disappearance. Moreover, his father, Rudolph Farias III, a Houston police officer, and 21-year veteran, died by suicide in 2014 while facing an internal affairs investigation.

Following his emergence, Rudy was seen hiding his face under a blanket as he was escorted out of a Houston hotel by counselor Quanell X, who became emotional while describing his conversation with the young man. The revelations made by Rudy have stunned the community and raised questions about the nature of his captivity and the extent of the claimed abuse. Currently, the authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and alleged captivity.
