LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alec Baldwin recently underwent hip replacement surgery. The 65-year-old actor was captured in a hospital bed wearing a medical gown, accompanied by his supportive wife, Hilaria, 39, who took to Instagram to share a heartfelt post, providing an update on her husband's medical health on Tuesday, May 30.
"Alec got a new hip today…it was a long time necessary. We have been through so much together…as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life," Hilaria wrote on Instagram. She proceeded to thank the medical team, saying, "Grateful to Dr Davidovitch, Dr Miller, Dr Golden, Dr. Furgiuele, the nurses, pt, ot, staff and the other amazing people who so generously are bringing him safely through this." Baldwin replied to the post, saying, "And you. Thanks to you."
'What a journey we have been through'
In February, Hilaria took to Instagram to commemorate the highs and lows of their relationship, dedicating a post to the memorable night they first crossed paths. "12 years ago, this night, we met. What a journey we have had been through, to, in, and around and continuing…every emotional place I don’t think either one of us could have ever predicted. But here we are…still standing, surrounded by all of you amazing humans, our tiny babes…and together. In it with you, Alec…I’m here, we are here…never alone," she wrote on Instagram.
'Nothing less than a miracle'
Baldwin's surgery marks the culmination of a hectic month for him, as he recently wrapped up with the filming of 'Rust'. This film holds particular significance as it was being shot in October 2021 when a firearm he was handling accidentally discharged, resulting in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. "Last day on the set of RUST with this guy," he said in a post earlier this month alongside costar Patrick Scott McDermott, 14. "A very talented actor and lovely young man with a bright future ahead. My love to you, @patrickscottmcdermott. It’s been a long and difficult road. But we reach the end of the trail today. Congratulations to Joel, Bianca and the entire cast and crew. Nothing less than a miracle," he added.
