'We need more multiplayer games': Dr DisRespect and xQc praise Bungie's new IP for 'Marathon'

There have long been whispers that Bungie, the video game company, is working on a new IP featuring PvP. The firm raised questions among fans when it announced job opportunities seeking developers for Unreal Engine rather than their own engine. Finally, a new 'Marathon' game was introduced by the company during the 2023 PlayStation Showcase, and it will be a continuation of the company's 'Marathon' series, the last game of which was released in 1996.

Prominent streamers xQc and Dr DisRespect were among the first to laud the game. Both creators who regularly broadcast gameplay streams, discussed their opinions of the game throughout the webcast, with Doc stating that fans need more titles like the upcoming 'Marathon' game.

‘Was it just a CGI?’

Dr DisRespect recently responded to the trailer for the game’s newest IP on a stream. He first rejected the idea of video and demanded that gameplay should be demonstrated. However, the streamer was soon captivated as the trailer continued. But he did insist on seeing some gameplay at the conclusion of the video, and expressed, “Are we gonna get some gameplay on it or was it just a CGI? Come on man!” He also praised Bungie for creating such a fascinating game. “Good! We need large-scale multiplayer games. Something at Triple-A level,” Dr DisRespect said at the end.

'That looks nice though’

Like Doc, xQc saw the launch trailer for Bungie's new IP for 'Marathon' while streaming. He was initially shocked to see that it was a promo for the new 'Marathon' game, as he thought it was going to be something related to 'Destiny 2'. Having said that, xQc was left wanting more after watching the teaser and could only express, “What the f**k! That looks nice though.” He also praised the creators for their attention to the art form's grandiosity.
