LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Influencer Dylan Mulvaney received the Breakout Creator award at the 2023 Streamy Awards on Sunday night, August 27 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old TikTok personality appeared to make fun of the Bud Light controversy at the conclusion of her victory speech.

Dylan Mulvaney and Bud Light controversy

Trans influencer Mulvaney gained notoriety after endorsing Bud Light that sent sales crashing and invited criticism from right wing media outlets as well as conservative customers of the brand.

In a social media video on April 28, Mulvaney for the first time addressed the controversy surrounding her collaboration with Bud Light.

Mulvaney claimed that she felt "very dissociative" during the weeks before after what must have been a genuinely strange month of witnessing transphobes shoot Bud Light cans over a straightforward ad.

"532 days ago, I made a coming-out video that turned into my ‘Days of Girlhood’ series, and my life has been changed for the better," she added.

"But on the flip side, there’s also been an extreme amount of transphobia and hate, and I know that my community is feeling it," she said, as cited by Deadline.

What did Dylan Mulvaney say in her victory speech?

The Breakout Creator award, which is regarded as the "foremost recognition within the creator community," was given to the 26-year-old Mulvaney.

This was after Mulvaney spent a significant portion of the first half of 2023 dogged by controversy over her association with Bud Light.

The trans influencer addressed her detractors in her victory speech while wearing a red satin minidress and matching kitten heels.

She also briefly mentioned the uproar she had caused earlier in the year.

"My life has been changed for the better but also there's been an extreme amount of transphobia and hate and I know that my community is feeling it and I know that even our allies are feeling it," she stated, holding her award.

"I look around this room and I just see so many amazing allies that have platforms and I think allyship right now needs to look differently. You need to support trans people publicly and proudly," she added.

"I love you so much, thank you, thank you, I'm gonna go have a beer and... I love ya!" as per Daily Mail.
