LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Popular trivia game show ‘Jeopardy!’ has made an iconic status in the world of game shows. After ‘Jeopardy! Masters’ marked its finale; fans have been craving for intellectual and mind-blowing champs again. The Masters' tournament wagered a large portion of fan following for the show amid contestants that played the same stunningly. Nevertheless, the usual ‘Jeopardy!’ is expected to run its course, considering host Mayim Bialik’s slow and "robotic" actions and contestants failing miserably at puzzles.
During a recent episode, a ‘Jeopardy!’ contestant was brutally slammed by the fans for several disastrous responses. Many fans guessed the response correctly and claimed the finale episode to be the easiest one, however, Jared Watson, a quality control specialist from Greenville, Texas, failed to answer them correctly. It nearly cost him the ‘Jeopardy!’ title, but luckily saved himself by winning the crown for a third straight game.
‘Jeopardy!’ worst guess
‘Jeopardy!’ champion Jared Watson nearly lost the game show title with brutal wrong guesses to the easiest trivia questions. With a two-day winning streak, Jared totaled $38,601. He had a face-off against fellow contestants -- Harrison Seidel, a marketing coordinator from Burbank, California, and Annabelle Winter, a graduate student from New York City, New York. Seidel and Winter gave Jared a tough competition initially, however, it turned out Jared was his own worst enemy. His incorrect response to many clues which many fans felt were easy ended up in an embarrassing moment.
Jared’s biggest blunder was a $200 clue that was all about the Philippines. Host Mayim Bialik stated, “The Japanese Garden is a good place to get away from the bustle of the 12 million or so people living in the area of this city.” Jared was the first one to buzz and guessed, “What is Tokyo?” Even Bialik was left surprised and gave a straight, “No” before she called out to Annabelle who guessed it correctly, “What is Manilla?”
‘Jared blew it’
Fans couldn’t believe Jared messed up so badly and trolled him online as one Twitter fan wrote, “Tokyo, Philippines. Yep, that's on my bucket list too Jared,” while another added, “Again I am in shock about Final #Jeopardy. Today’s was beyond easy, yet runaway leader and now three-time champion Jared Watson didn’t get it. Category is Acronyms.” One more user wrote, “Jared blew it”.
While the fans claimed the final ‘Jeopardy!’ was extremely easy, they didn’t stop lashing out at Jared for considering Tokyo for the capital of the Philippines and mocked him online. One fan twitted, “I doubt I’ve ever said “what the f**k” out loud to a #jeopardy response before but Tokyo for “capital of the Philippines” did it.”
Another added, “I can't even get over his answer—what did it even mean. And it was a shockingly easy question, as you quite accurately noted.” One more fan wrote, “Even when getting it wrong, Jared wins it later.”
